Learn how to create a cube with data from multiple sources.




Step 1
Click the "Link to" button on the toolbar to connect to the first source of data

Select the first database

Select the tables you need

Now, let's create the dimensions and measures for the cube.

Right-click the "Product name" column and select "Add as new Dimension"

Right-click the "Customer name" column and select "Add as new Dimension"

Right-click the "Quantity" column and select "Add as new Measure"

Take a look at the preview of cube data

Now, click the "Queries" button on the toolbar and select "Add a new query"

Choose a name for the new query

Now, click again the "Link to" button on the toolbar to connect to the second source of data

Select the second database

We have already created the dimensions and measures, we don't have to do that again.

Of course, the two queries share the same dimensions and measures.

For this new query, we need to review each dimension level and measure and set the appropriate value.

Right-click the "Customer Name" level and select Properties.

Use the Arrow button to select the appropriate table column for this level.
